Areas of competencies with the use of Information and Communication Technology

Three Areas of Competencies that would make you a professional teacher in your classroom

  • Planning
  • Administration for Learning
  • Networking

Planning

Terms of the quality of learning you promote, and in terms of maintaining your own mental health and enthusiasm for the work you do, is to make sure you devote enough time to planning. Of course, we all know that teaching is a complex activity and involves a wide variety of tasks and qualities, but in my dealings with teachers, ranging from novices to experienced, I still come across many teachers who do not devote enough time to planning and haven’t fully realized the massive benefits that good planning offers, and how it can really help them.

Planning  enables you to be innovative and try out new approaches and ideas in your teaching. When busy and tired, it’s not surprising that some teachers stick with teaching activities that are tried and tested and which manifestly work successfully. There is nothing wrong with this over the short-term. The time and effort you put into planning your lessons will deliver rich dividends for your pupils in being able to experience lessons that you have homed to perfection. However, time marches on, what and how you teach today will not be what is considered to be good practice in the future. The school curriculum is ever changing (and, of course, the new Ofsted Inspection Framework will be on many teachers’ minds at the moment), be it in terms of the content of the course and lessons, the learning outcomes, the use of technology, the methods of assessment, and working with other staff.

Overhauling your planning can be a daunting challenge if you leave adopting such new approaches for too long. Devoting time to planning has an inbuilt element of reflection involved: how can I improve my teaching? Such reflection can help you stay at the forefront of innovative thinking and practice rather than feeling you are having to catch up with good practice under duress.

Administration of Learning

A successful school is about much more than teaching. While good teaching and learning are crucial, the administration that underpins it is key to providing a well-rounded education that rencompasses the whole child. Effective administration and operations support an education that goes well beyond imparting knowledge .

Networking

Networking bolsters professional and personal development, and successful networkers connect with colleagues, mentor figures, and experts from diverse occupational backgrounds to develop relationships that also function as professional support system.

Establishing a professional learning network for teachers is especially important, as it helps educators expand their influence beyond the classroom, share curricula, and acquire new teaching strategies. Educators network in person at annual teaching conferences, or build digital partnerships online using both general networking sites and education-specific social media tools. Networking offers an opportunity for new teachers to make good impressions on potential employers and compensate for limited professional experience. Additionally, young teachers who build a professional network have more opportunities to acquire valuable resources from classroom veterans.

ICTs in Education

Teaching occupies an honorable position in the society. ICT helps the teacher to update the new knowledge, skills to use the new digital tools and resources. By using and acquire the knowledge of ICT, student teacher will become effective teachers. ICT is one of the major factors for producing the rapid changes in our society. It can change the nature of education and roles of students and teacher in teaching learning process. ICT helps Teacher to motivate students and growing interest in learning.ICT helps Teacher for organizational preconditions (vision, policy and culture). It is also helps Teacher for their personnel support (knowledge, attitude, skills).ICT helpful for technical preconditions (infrastructure).ICT helpful for designed learning situations which are needed for both vocational education and the training of future teachers (in the teacher training institutes)Teacher training institutes can develop their curriculum using ICT.with the help of ICT Teacher training institutes can develop communications. Networking teachers learn most from their own networks (learning from others)

As a student this competencies will help me to  have a long-term goals (honours degree) lead to setting midterm goals (by semester) which can be broken down into short-term goals (completing an assignment).Writing out your goals helps you think more clearly about what you want to achieve.Having enthusiasm for daily life, accepting responsibility, being motivated and flexible, and making effective use of time are signs of a positive attitude. Planning ahead is the single best way to stay focused and motivated to reach your goals. When deciding what to do with your time, considering your priorities is a good way to decide what to do next. Goals help you set priorities and remain committed to your college success. The Personal Learning Environment  allows me to be connecting with students, teachers, school managers, tutors, families and the wider community by means of open and commercial ICT solutions inside and outside the school facilities, supporting lifelong learning, enabling me to control and define its own learning processes under the mentoring of the lectures.

Teachers are arguably the most important members of our society. They give children purpose, set them up for success as citizens of our world, and inspire in them a drive to do well and succeed in life. The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow, and teachers are that critical point that makes a child ready for their future.Teachers have the ability to shape leaders of the future in the best way for society to build positive and inspired future generations and therefore design society, both on a local and global scale. In reality, teachers have the most important job in the world. Those who have an impact on the children of society have the power to change lives. Not just for those children themselves, but for the lives of all.Teachers truly are the backbone of society. They are role models to children, offer guidance and dedication and give young people the power of education. Because of teachers, countries are able to further develop socially and economically.

  1. It would be good if most of the discussion were linked to your own personal environment, by stating examples and solutions.
